Introducing SERPology
A new, refreshed version of The SEOBreakdown newsletter
Welcome Back to My Thoughts!
If you’re receiving this email, it’s because a while back you subscribed to The SEOBreakdown. That was my old newsletter, which was a deep dive into an insightful article that came out that week.
The last issue came out in 2022. So if you’re over it and have moved on by now go ahead and unsubscribe, I don’t blame you, there are so many great SEO-focused newsletters out there.
But I’m revamping The SEOBreakdown and turning it into something new and hopefully interesting for the rest of you who decide to stay. Introducing: SERPology.
What is SERPology?
SERPology is a cute word that came about thanks to my amazing coworker, Marco Silva. We were talking about my expansion into SEO and UX testing and he suggested I use this as my branding name.

So, we get SERPology.
This newsletter won’t be a regurgitation of a singular SEO blog post or a regular round-up article. Instead, I’ll send out some cool information having to do with SEO testing, case studies, and my thoughts. Maybe one month there are some great test results out there that I’ll share along with my take. Maybe another month I’ll share something I found something interesting while running one of my own tests. Either way, you’ll get to read about SEO testing and go down this rabbithole with me.
Why
In my first issue of The SEOBreakdown, I wrote “I’m a big believer in lifelong learning and feel that SEO is a never ending pit of information. From content strategy to Javascript rendering, it’s insane to know it all.” I still feel the exact same way even this much further into my career.
I’m happy to learn in public and share my experiences—good and bad—with you all.
I’ve also niched down into something a little more specific than just SEO and want to keep knowledgeable about testing, search experience optimization, UX, and even CRO.
The final word
Thank you for having joined me on my learning journey back in 2022 and I hope you’ll stick with me in 2024. Let’s continue to grow together.
